Hire Industry Regional Meetings - fantastic attendance ...

The Hire Association held Regional meetings throughout New Zealand between the dates of 9th and 11th of April. All meetings were very well subscribed with over 60 in Auckland, 35 in Palmerston North and almost 50 in Christchurch the format of these meetings included Guest speakers, Industry Supplier demonstrations, updates from the Association, fantastic networking opportunities including dinner.

Special thanks to Mike Roberts and his team at Karcher, and Iain and his team at Solo NZ for presenting at all three meetings as well as providing great giveaways! It is great to have the support of our Industry suppliers at these meetings.

The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment presented information on the latest initiative in reducing falls from height. Fantastic fact sheets are available to support businesses and staff.

Other guest speakers included: Gerald Delaney from Advantage Business who spoke on Succession Planning, Ian McQuay from AIG who spoke with regard to ACC for the self employed, Christine Gooding from Shannon Digital Christchurch presenting the concept and possibilities of Social Media for those in the Hire Industry. All speakers were well received and interesting and we look forward to seeing some of these speakers again at Conference 2013, where they will run full workshops. It was also fantastic to see lots of new Members who have recently joined the Association, as well as some potential members. General updates included the progress that has been made with the Marquee Best Practice document and Marquee Training Program, website improvements, communications, working group forums, Hire Excellence, an update on Conference 2013 in Taupo and the opportunities for Members.

The turnout for all meetings was brilliant, thank you to all for taking time out to attend.
