Welcome all to the launch of our 2021 Conference website.

I have tagged 2020 with the cliché “The year where everything that could happen didn’t”. This was definitely the case with the HIANZ 2020 Conference in Queenstown. It was a disappointing task cancelling the conference but prudent given the circumstances.

However, never to shy away from adversity, and with positive thought processes, we have initiated our plan to hold the 2021 conference.

Earlier in the year at the AGM, our then President Tim Mikkelsen announced the board had agreed to push on with a conference plan for 2021. Our location chosen was based on being central to our member base, safe and low risk.

Rotorua Events Centre offers everything we desire from our 2021 conference:

Safe, as in we have been there twice before and both times have been excellent conferences, so we know the venue and the management team there well and we know we can hold a good conference there.
Low Risk, Though any town/city in NZ is exposed to a potential COVID outbreak that could see restrictions being put in place, it is more likely in a city/town where there is a conduit to the outside world via a border of some sort. Being in the middle of the country potentially reduces the chances of restrictions.
Rotorua is a central location, good transit options via road and airport and being centrally located in the north island, puts us as close as possible to a higher percentage of our membership base. It also is close for the bulk of our Supplier Members to travel with their equipment and exhibit at our conference.

2021 Conference will undoubtedly be our biggest conference ever. We have a very high level of interest and query from our members, all of whom are hanging out to meet up again and reconnect. This is with both you the exhibitors and their peers. If ever there was a time to get the most out of a conference as an exhibitor/sponsor, 2021 is going to be it for the Hire Industry.

We are building an excellent program with varied speakers, interest workshops (you can present one if you want) and the team are working hard to create a great entertainment package to go along with an increased contact time for you with the delegates.
