Haere-roa Events Centre, located at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, is a versatile and modern venue designed to host a wide range of events. Opened in July 2019, it features multiple spaces including the iconic Ngaio Marsh Theatre, an outdoor amphitheatre overlooking the Avon River, and various rooms for meetings, workshops, and social gatherings.

The annual HIANZ Hire Excellence Awards Dinner is taking place at the Viaduct Events Centre. The upstairs venue will be beautifully transformed for this highly anticipated Black Tie event.

Dress Code

The dress code for all conference sessions is business casual. 
Party Night Dress Up – This year’s theme is ‘Day of the Dead’ at Muy Muy Tapas and Margaritas Bar.

Photography and Videography

By submitting your conference registration, you have given your consent for us to use and store any images or videos that you appear in for promotional purposes by the Organising Committee or event managers.

Wifi

Complimentary WIFI is available for all delegates in the conference areas.

Parking

Limited car parking is available at the Haere-roa Events Centre. 

Additionally, Ilam Road has a number of parks on the street and there is a large parking lot outside the Len Lye Building – a 10 minute walk down the road.

Transfer of Registrations

If you are no longer able to attend, you can nominate another person to attend in your place as long as you advise us in advance of the conference. Please ensure to have details of the replacement person on hand, including: first name, last name, email address, phone number and any special/dietary requirements. Any registration transfers must be made in writing to the Events Team: events@hianz.net.nz

Insurance

It is the responsibility of all delegates to organise any personal, medical and travel insurance. HIANZ, and all venues/suppliers working with HIANZ on the conference and associated events, hold no liability.

Programme

The programme is subject to change and the Organising Committee reserve the right to make modifications at any time.

Cancellations

Any cancellations must be made in writing to the Events Team – events@hianz.net.nz

 If notification of cancellation of registration is received in writing prior to Friday 01 August 2025, you will be refunded your registration in full, less an administration fee of $50.00 + GST. Any cancellations after this date are liable for the full conference registration cost.

HIANZ reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change the date of the event in case of government imposed restrictions or circumstances beyond their control. In such a case all monies paid to date will be refunded in full less any expenses incurred. The liability of the organiser’s will be limited to that amount.
