Our series of courses and document guidelines developed over decades brings clarity to even the most seasoned professionals.

In addition to this, we offer our members Terms and Conditions for Hire documents, PPSR guide, Equipment Safety Data Sheets, HIANZ Test and Tag sticker products and a members shop offering Hire Specific stationery and stickers.  HIANZ also offers hire-specific insurance and legal partner support, and an eLearning system for you and your staff, we host networking events as well as the biggest Hire Conference in New Zealand every year.

 

APEX Bpg and marquee programme

HIANZ has developed the APEX Marquee programme and offers Marquee Rigger Training.  The APEX Best Practice guidance has been developed by HIANZ to help event organisers, contractors, managers and others make health and safety improvements when erecting, using and dismantling marquees and similar temporary fabric structures. The guidance represents best practice that may go further than the minimum you need to do to comply with the law.

Marquee Rigger Competition 23rd July 2024

In collaboration with Baytex, New Zealand’s only manufacturer of marquees, we held the very first Marquee Rigging Competition, to identify the fastest HIANZ rigging team in NZ! The competition took place at HIRECON24 on Tuesday 23rd July.   

We had four teams battling it out to see who was the fastest to rig and dismantle a Baytex 6mtr Fete c/w walls to their installation specifications and using the APEX training and  best practice guidelines. The winning Team were The X-Site Group North, congratulations to Daniel, Nate and Richard!

Marquee Auction at hirecon24

Congratulations to the winner of the brand new Baytex 6mtr Fete marquee, Kate and Jason Blundell from Silk Estate placed the highest bid to win the auction. The auction took place at Happy Hour on the first day of HIRECON24 (23rd July). 

HIANZ and Baytex collaborated to auction off the marquee used in the above competition to the highest bidder at HIRECON24!

Kate and Jason chose to donate their winning bid to Heartfelt NZ and the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust in a 3-way joint donation! 

Look out for our APEX approved Members country-wide

Selecting contractors that demonstrate competence and provide evidence for their adherence to these APEX guidelines will greatly improve safety before, during and after your event, and hence improve the risk profile of the event itself.

HIANZ runs an accreditation scheme and only admits as members those who agree to follow this guide, and to submit themselves to independent inspection to check that they do.
